VARIETY:
"Common". Medium to full-size leaves excellent for dressing up soups or as a garnish. Quick growing and a good choice for greenhouse growers or those who prefer a heavy chive. Great for freezing and drying. Edible, pungent pink to purple flowerheads.
CULTURE:
Fairly rich soil in sun/part shade. Mulch in the fall for best overwintering results (but don't forget to pull back the mulch first thing in spring!) Hardy in Zones 3-8. As with all onion family plants, seedlings come small, but don’t be discouraged. They WILL grow, and continue to come back year after year.
