"Frisee". Very frilly endive with finely-cut leaves and blanched interior sprigs. A signature salad mix ingredient! Grow as baby leaf or like leaf lettuce and plant at high density or cover centers for well-blanched, tender sprigs.
CULTURE:
Endive and escarole are cold hardy and can be planted as early as the soil can be worked. They are cool weather crops and grow best at temperatures of 60-65°F (15.5-18.3°C). Plants need 12-18 square inches to mature properly.
